Um I went to this place with high hopes given the ratings it has received, but honestly I can say that It wasn't all that great. I ordered a chicken with eggs in a burrito and the chicken was ridiculously salty. I could not believe that people feel that it's that awesome. I also think they have a little confusion with their identity. It's suppose to be a Cuban place, but it felt more Mexican to me.

Love this place, what a little treasure. I frequently go here for an iced cafe con leche and some breakfast, really tasty and fresh!

This place is amazing. It doesn't look like much from the outside, but it it delicious. I've never had a Cuban mix so good. Highly recommend the conch fritters and fried plantains - they were outta this world! They also have breakfast, but I haven't tried it....yet!

So here's the skinny- came into Kim's Kuban recently, and I really wanted to like it. Really, really, really. It's just the sort of unassuming hole in the wall that typically serves up the best food. First, be aware that if you're planning on eating here- don't. As the other reviews have mentioned, there really isn't seating. Also, they appeared to have a great breakfast selection, but I didn't order it. So I did end up getting food to go. Among the food to go was a Cuban Mix sandwich. Now, I know you can't rate a place entirely on their Cuban Mix, but... I kinda do. And it wasn't very good. Meat was uninspiring. Bread wasn't great. It was, you know, okay at best. They are also definitely not competing on service, if you know what I mean. I am sure there are great things to recommend Kim's Kuban, but they weren't apparent to me. There are much better Cuban Mix and breakfast options. If I wanted good hole in the wall, I would go to El Mocho.

Thank you Yelp Because of yelp we ( wife & me ) decided to try kim's Kuban. The food was great. My wife ordered chicken burrito, and I order a cuban sandwich with all the works. The day before I had a cuban sandwich at a restaurant in Miami on Collins Ave and it SUCK BIG TIME : ( Will order food again

This is a cute little sandwich shop with great food but very limited seating (just three or four stools). I also enjoyed the sweet plantain they serve!

What a great place! Small, as everyone has said, but the Cuban sandwiches were fantastic. The roasted pork was a nice touch, and the bread was just the right combination of crunchy and moist. We both had coffee con leche, which was strong and flavorful. The staff is friendly and down to earth. We felt right at home. Another Yelp success story!

After eating here, I am not sure people who rave about this place in their reviews actually had a real Cuban sandwich before. We came to Kim's Kuban in the afternoon after we landed in Key West in search of some Cuban food, since this is the closest place to Cuba, so they must have some good Cuban cuisine in town. Parking was very limited like everywhere else in Key West. We were the only ones there when we got there, and the staff seemed half asleep. We ordered a few things like Cuban Mix, Steak & Cheese, and Egg & Sausage with Cheese. I also had a Café Con Leche. The breads were not pressed at all, and the sandwiches was a bit too hard for me, and the meat quality in the mix was not very good, as they tasted like processed ham and roasted meat bought from grocery stores, both dried and bland. The steak was a bit overcooked. The egg and sausage portion were tiny in comparison to the sandwich itself. The drink arrived very late, right when we were about to leave. I am not too sure I can recommend this place, just not my cup of tea. Maybe they will taste better after a few drinks, or perhaps they were trying too hard to simulate the food situation in Cuba?

Close to our hotel at Parrot Resort, we found Kim's Kuban and have had the best CUBAN mixed sandwich EVER. The Cuban bread was so light and fluffy. The meat just melts in your mouth The cafe con leche was absolutely delicious.

Disappointed in the customer service here. I ordered for delivery and was speaking very clearly and my order showed up, I ordered 2 meals and only one arrived and was charged $5 for delivery for half a mile when I called to speak to the manager he said oh we are out of that or the fryer is broken or something well... That would of been nice to know upon placing my order. Thirty minutes later I'm extremely hungry and nothing was done to make me feel better about this. Even after I said I will not be ordering any more food from them. I will not. Lessons in customer service would be beneficial for them.

From the start to the end, high standard customer service. The owner greeted us as well as his wife. It's a family own business. The menu has a variety of Cuban breakfast as well as lunch with a combined section of Mexican food. My selection was the ham, egg, and cheese sandwich and croquettes. Owner mentioned to me that the bread use for my sandwich was a local French bakery. I can't even find a this quality Cuban cuisine in Miami. Everything was made on the spot. Croquettes were cooked to perfection and my sandwich satisfied my taste buds craving Cuban food. The cafe con leche was a little bit too hot, but the taste made up for it. I have to say that this place is definitely one of key West best places to eat for breakfast and lunch. The prices won't break bank and you definitely get your money's worth. We will come back again on our next trip. Thank you for your customer care and friendly environment.

I used to love this place but it has really gone downhill. First they were out of bollos, which is not cool. Second, their steak is not Cuban, it's like chimichurri. Third, and the most annoying, it is so hard to order over the phone because they can barely understand English, which normally I find charming but they completely got our address wrong. And it took about three times as long to get our food than they said it would. Really disappointed.

Love this place, coffee with a Cuban is my favorite! Great customer service, great food and military friendly, a must go for any meal of the day!

This place is well priced with fantastic food. I got a double espresso and the grilled grouper sandwich. My friends got the cafe con Leche, the steak quessedilla, chicken quessedilla and the bacon egg and cheese sandwich. The two sandwiches are in a Cuban bun and pressed which is unique and delicious. The conche fritters were good top but I'm not so into the fried part...too much oil. Everything was fantastic overall and I will go back over and over again.

Food was amazing! It reminded me of being in a diner. Space is very limited so if it's a bunch of you I wouldn't recommend it. Other than that, enjoy!!

Simply fantastic! A small joint just down the road from our hotel. The Cuban mix sandwich was beyond our expectations! We ordered a pork sandwich to go for my daughter and she said it was the best sandwich ever! My wife and I are already planning how we can eat there again before we leave town.

A decent place with good sandwiches/burgers. There's nothing fancy about the food or the place but the folks who work there and the environment make this a nice brunch/lunch place. Go here when you're looking for a quick bite.

Best Cuban food I've ever had. It's a nice locals place with good prices. I always pick up the cheesy Cuban bread with a side of cafe con leche to go and enjoy it by the beach.

This review is purely based on the food as I got it delivered. Absolutely awesome!!! Steak egg and cheese sandwich is okay...not at all a bad way to start your day. What impressed me was the Cuban Mix sandwich. Ton of flavor on a fresh Cuban roll. Delicious. Very impressed.

We've had about 5 different Cuban sandwiches on this trip and this one was by far the best we had. They have an extensive menu and there's lots to choose from. We had the Cuban mix, the Cuban burger and Cuban coffees. It was delicious and we really recommend this place if you're in the mood for trying a real Cuban sandwich. The Cuban mix was the best, we found they are usually on the dry side but this one was moist and very tasty with a better quality of meat inside We'd eat here all the time of we lived in Key West!

This is the best place to buy a Cuban Mix, but be prepared for a wait. Calling ahead is a very good idea. Soups are also very good, but they sell out quickly.

You might miss it if you drive too fast. A hole in the wall good cuban food. Good cuban coffee and breakfast. Very friendly staff which you don't see a lot in South Florida.

This little place is huge! Great food, great people! And the best conch fritters on Key West. We went on a "ConchQuest" over the Christmas holidays. They won! Large servings and very good prices. We will be back next year!

I love to grab quick bites here and the locals love this place too. Don't come too late because they only do breakfast and lunch and if you come at lunch be patient because they get busy. Service is fast though and you can watch them cook your food too. Most people take it to go but if you decide you want to eat here then be ready for a lot of friendly conversation with the family running this place. They only have 4 stools to eat at the counter so get there before the lunch crowd arrives. They make really good traditional cafe con leche and a lot of sandwiches, but my favorite thing to get is pan cubano (pressed cuban bread with butter). Next time you are near Kim's make sure you stop by and meet these really nice people and have a quick and easy meal. Tell them Marisol sent you.

Call me stubborn but I don't normally listen to recommendations from friends and family; maybe because they never seem to live up to what has been boasted. Thankfully I did listen this time and made a breakfast stop here and took a spot on their 4 seat counter (for the most part this is a take-out & delivery restaurant). The coffee was strong like I expected (cafe con leche with one sweet n' low). I was surprised when watching them make coffee for others because if you don't specify how much sweetener as I did, then expect it quite sweet (saw 4 spoonfuls of sugar go into one large coffee and the customer just said "cafe con leche with sugar" (perhaps he was a regular though). We had a bread & cheese (pressed cuban bread with cheese) and an egg & cheese with ham. Both were good but wish I asked what kind of cheese; they use american cheese (the one cheese I don't love)... but still very good nonetheless. Set your GPS for this eatery because I have driven by many times and this little place is tucked between a liquor store and a haircutter and not easily noticed. The staff are extremely outgoing, energetic and welcoming. Look forward to trying lunch out some time in the future.

Hole in the wall good cuban food. Tough to get to with the road traffic, and poor parking. But good sandwiches and con leche.

Talk about your Key West institutions! A trip to Key West just isn't complete without stopping into Kim's. Try the cuban mix or breakfast steak, egg and cheese sandwich with cafe con leche for a perfect start to any day on the island.

Cheap. Quick. Delicious. I had a Cuban Mix sandwich, and the girl I was with had an egg and cheese sandwich. We split some bollos and conch fritters, because I was hungry and wanted to try them both. Everything was great, and the total was something like $25. Don't go in here expecting anything fancy... it's a tiny place with only four stools and a counter. But you won't be disappointed in the food.

We were staying at the Fairfield Inn right down the street and wanted some local flair for lunch and within walking distance. I Yelped nearby restaurants and found Kim's Cuban. Two of us shared a mixed Cuban sandwich and an order of french fries. This was more than enough. They were very generous on the fries and the sandwich was huge. Additionally the service was fantastic. They owners? were very gracious for my order.

This is a small place off Truman, if you drive fast you will miss it! The owners are nice people and the food delicious. Only wish they had pastelitos! Don't miss this place for breakfast in Key West.

Good food, good service. The sandwiches overall are good. Although it's not out of this world it's also not bad. Check it out if you're in town.

First and foremost there is nothing Cuban about this place. The food was straight up nasty. After reading the reviews we thought ok we definitely need to check out the breakfast Cuban mix, eggs and cafe but when we got there we we're shocked to see no Cuban cook and a dingy establishment! There was absolutely no Cuban food on the menu! What they call a Cuban mix was a straight up greasy hoagie, with some nasty processed ham, some gross looking pork, one slice of American cheese, a whole lot of mayo to disguise the bad meat and lettuce. The egg and cheese sandwich was drowning in butter! The service was cold. The atmosphere was filthy. I mean they need a health inspector up in there. I can't get over how bad it was and how people gave such high ratings! Either they know the owners or they just don't know good food. I mean even for a hole in the wall breakfast spot it was bad and the prices were average. If you want good Cuban with a C food go to Havana 1! Excellent food and reasonable pricing. Oh they have an actual Cuban cook too!
